The Heat Division Staff Photos ca. 1970’s collection contains photographs of employees from the Heat Division’s various sections. With responsibility for the temperature scale, the Heat Division was deeply involved in basic thermometry research, with activities in extending the range of temperature attainment and measurement. In addition, the division did a great deal on the acquisition, analysis, and methods for the measurement of thermodynamic data. It was one of the leading scientific divisions at the National Bureau of Standards.
